Title: Dyson Sphere EP
Label: Off Recordings
Release: Out Now
For 20 years now Lauhaus has been setting the stage alight with his intelligent mix of House and Techno, there is absolutely no slowing up for the Soueso founder. Off Recordings bring us 5 heavy hitting Techno tracks from the Dutchman, with all the ingredients to shake the subwoofers all night long.Amsterdam holds legendary status for producing some of the best electronic artists the world has seen, Lauhaus is one of them!
The Dyson Sphere EP gives us 2 versions of the aforementioned track. The original fills the air with a selection of finely chosen, distorted percussive sounds, a huge kick drum and a melodic groove to fill the layers. The Dub version comes to life with a beautiful, harmonically balanced Techno stab, engrossed in a rolling line of top hats, rides, claps and of course, Lauhaus’ signature distorted percussion.
‘Transits’ is more reminiscent of 90’s Detroit style Acid House mixed with a more modernised Techno style. The filtered piano chords make an easy job of setting my hairs standing on end. The Anonym version, his ‘Magimix’ as he calls it leaves me in total awe. There is certainly something magical about it! The reversed delays pay compliment to the funky bass and brilliantly crafted collection of synthesised sounds.
The magic doesn’t end there. ‘Flux’ is yet another mammoth record which caps off this great EP in some style. It continues the previous vibes as it effortlessly puts us into a fast paced state of trance. The blend of acidic joy keeps us engrossed right until the finish line. These 5 tracks combined make a marvellous EP and will be one I recommend for any with a palette for classic Techno.
