Loco Dice delivers two fine remixes of Go by Moby

When one legendary artist takes on the task of remixing another legendary artist’s work, you can be absolutely certain the outcome is going to be incredible.

When I had seen ‘Moby – Go (Loco Dice Remixes)’ land in my inbox I could not contain my excitement. The original track was one that held big influence over me in my younger years. I remember hearing my uncle playing it back in the 90’s and my inquisitive nature led to my uncle getting me my own collection of Moby albums. The signature shaved head, square glasses, and colourful album covers always stick in my memory. ‘Moby – Go’ was originally released back in 1990 on one of the original Electronic labels, Instinct records.

Loco Dice is a global star and one of the reasons I got into Tech House so much in the first place. His unique style glares through his productions, all the way from his remix of ‘Mousse T – Toscana’ up to present day. Sheer consistency might be a better way to put it.

The bright, colourful synths baked in a distinct Loco Dice style bassline and wonderful sounding 808 kick drum is glued together with a spacious atmosphere. The unmistakable vocal samples from the original give off a melancholic vibe, an immortal track that eases us into a feeling of joy and satisfaction. We are introduced to some ingeniously crafted wobbles and epic, hair-raising sounds. The gated drums drift into those glorious strings that have captivated audiences for the past 26 years with the melancholic vocal heightening our senses.

The best thing about this remix pack is that it is, in fact, a pack! We get two remixes from Loco Dice of Go. The second version, or (Loco Dice Mo Strings Remix) gifts us with a more emotional, melodic vibe from the word go by including those massive strings from the original early on. Both remixes work brilliantly and give DJ’s the opportunity to utilize both in different situations. Fans of Loco Dice, be prepared! These two remixes rank up there as some of his best work to date
