Artist: Lonya & DJ Zombi feat. Mz Sunday Luv
Label: Beat Boutique
Released: 5th September 2016
Genre: Progressive House
One-half of Weekend Heroes, DJ Zombi seems to be everywhere nowadays. In the scheme of things with his label Beat Boutique, he teams up with Tel Aviv music maker Lonya as their latest one tracker hits us by a capital storm. The release also features Mz Sunday Luv.
Titled, ‘Treason’, the original mix is one of those curveball tracks that is an ideal launch pad for the ascending ravey stabs and percussive clutters throughout the missive. All the while there are devilishly good whirls of big room bass charmingly ensconced into a dervish of electronic machinery, and vocalism which combines modern studio techniques with classic tropes of early progressive house strains to effectively present an outstanding A-side.
The label involves German DJ/Producer Marten Sundberg to provide the lone remix of the pack, which slows things down with a lot of gumption attached around his rework. His remix is a moody gem and chugs along, drifting in on melancholic pads and dubby stunted bass. It ventures down sections quietly and with tinkling elegance, slinky as funk! Plus you have that dark interface which makes this a remix worth gold, the kind you don’t expect in a pack that boasts of an original that’s diametrically opposite to the B.
Just get out there and buy this release!!!
