Making his first ever solo release debut here is a bright new hope from Luca Barletta. Barletta is a Swiss producer hoping to follow in the footsteps of countrymen peers like Ripperton and Luciano and kicks off his career in fine style. Alongside his three originals, Rhadow turns out a compelling remix.

Outerspace opens the EP in broody fashion with a spare groove that is run through with future sounding synths, a grubby little baseline and is a sombre affair. Into the Deep is a more bouncy house leaning track with rubbery kicks that land firmly each time, percussion that is loose and fluid and synths that melt into nothing over and over. It’s a floor filler, for sure, and lastly the young pretender serves up ‘Time to Change’, which is paired back to a subtle bit of minimalism. It’s deep and heady and gets remixed by Rhadow into something a little less cramped and insular. His version is wide open, swirling and spacey and definitely one you can get down to.

About the Author

A house music veteran, growing up with the sound before it was even called ‘house music’. A successful DJ and producer in his own right, an ex-label and record shop owner. It’s safe to say house and techno music has been a large part of James’ life for longer than most of today’s clubbers have been alive. Despite being a self-confessed ‘underground monkey’ James appreciates the adage ‘house is a feeling’, and that the scene is all about bringing people together no matter what sound you’re in to."
