Label: Tulipa Recordings
Release: Out Now!
Lutzenkirchen is back on Tulipa Recordings for his 6th release on the mega label, and there is no letting up on the Techno maestro’s talent. The ‘Divergence EP’, which was over a year in the making, features 6 tracks, including heavyweight remixes from Horatio and Dousk.
‘Breathe’ comes to life with some perfectly sculpted delays, a rumbling low-frequency atmosphere, and some seriously hard hitting percussion which are all buckled together by the guiding body of the subs. This is the type of Techno that comes in late at night and turns the dancefloor into a mega mosh pit.
‘Moko Kito’ takes on a more housey feel with a snappy percussive body. The tough transients are charged with an irresistible line of overdriven synths of various colour. Lutzenkirchen manages to keep things seriously addictive with his stylish switches in sound.
Dousk’s version of ‘Moko Kito’ is a perfect example of how a remix should be. The pioneering producer has managed to create something completely fresh but, still sticking to the elements of the original and twisting things up into a freaky anthem. The modular sounds of ‘Space Racer’ takes a rapid turn. The pacey lows shine in the light of the crisp hats whilst keeping things deep and dark with the hasty mids flowing fast like white water rapids.
We dive deep into ‘Tieftaucher’ and are confronted with the many mysteries of the oceanic depths. Things feel fun and slightly more melodic than previously. The bassline is lively and the pitch shift of the backing synths take things up an octave. This track leaves us feeling seriously supercharged. Horatio’s remix is a full on speed demon. The consistent drive of the track parts are relentless.
The movement generated in the soundwaves is outstanding and the year-long wait for this release was worth every second. This is a hugely impactful EP and features some top class work from top class artists.
