‘Eye Ring’, the first single from Francesca Lombardo’s forthcoming ‘Life Of Leaf’ LP, deftly displayed the Italian producer’s unique nature and extensive artistic capabilities. Hailed by Resident Advisor as ‘one of her best tracks in recent memory’, it saw Lombardo create a blend of emotional and uplifting electronica in which her vocals sat front and center.
Moving towards the release of her long-awaited debut, Francesca enlists Techno titan Martin Buttrich and singer song-writer Tom Adams, to remix her touching and personal original.
Martin Buttrich, a name synonymous with sounds of forward thinking Techno, has firm connections with labels such as Desolat, Cocoon Recordings and Get Physical. Spanning a near 30-year career, from Grammy nominations to devoutly underground releases, his catalogue is truly inspiring. Now exploring another side of his repertoire, Martin delves deep into hypnotic realms, replacing classical elements with modern day synthesizers, transforming ‘Eye Ring’ into a mysterious afterhours cut.
Offering a new perspective, Tom Adams presents an atypically soft, downtempo and minimalistic approach to his remix; one that has since seen him enlisted by the likes of Nils Frahm for collaborative projects. Layering drum sounds with rich synthesis in a way that leaves ample space for Francesca’s celestial vocals, Tom creates a stunning reinterpretation that is unique and engaging in equal measure.
