Diversions Music does not hold back with its fifth release, bringing on board the Spanish DJ and producer Miguel Lobo. Although being relatively young, Miguel has not wasted any time and we have already seen him release music on labels such as 8Bit Records, Defected Records and Cécille Records. He has a quickly growing fan base where he is celebrating his unique style of house inspired, tight and groove-focused tech house.

Diversions Music has already established itself as a provider of high-quality music ranging from tech house, techno and deep house, which is no surprise considering the two guys behind it are Oxia and Nicolas Masseyeff. Based in France, Oxia and Nico have been friends and close colleagues for more than a decade, and in 2016 they founded the label. Although having busy touring and releasing schedules they never fail to secure the label’s diverse character through carefully selected music. Miguel’s newest release “Physical Things EP” works itself directly into the core of the musical soundscape we have come to enjoy when thinking of the label.

The title track sets us off with a smooth and rolling groove underlined by a charming bass hook. Vocals are cleverly used and ads extra texture to the track. We move over to Oxia’s remix of “Physical Things”, and are hit by a slightly more upbeat vibe that culminates in a beautifully constructed break truly reflecting his characteristic style through a charming melody and fierce bassline. “Feelings” is the final track of the release and gives an extra push of positive energy with its incredibly catchy groove, adding some spiciness to its tight bassline- and percussion-induced funkiness.

A very tight and round release where the original tracks are massive groove monsters ready to release some fury, supplemented by the remix that provides a welcomed nuanced take on it, bringing a form of magnitude to the release while keeping the feeling dancefloor oriented. These are definitely three tracks that all work very well and are destined to become parts of many DJ sets around the globe.
