The Prototypes said:
““At 8pm on 10th October – World Mental Health Day – we’ll be boarding the British Airways i360 and elevating to 400 feet above our hometown Brighton to bring you ‘Legacy’ – a 90 minute DJ set of all our own material to celebrate our 10th year in the Drum & Bass scene. We will be doing this to raise money for Mental Health Charity ‘MIND’ who are helping people cope in this turbulent time and beyond. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store – Big Love” Nick & Chris aka The Prototypes
In April, The Prototypes performed a 24 hour Drum & Bass & Jungle DJ set in partnership with D&BTV and raised £14K for the NHS through ‘NHS Charities Together’.
The Prototypes’ ‘Quantum’ is the latest single to be released from the UK drum & bass stars’ forthcoming second album, ‘Ten Thousand Feet & Rising’, and has been heavily supported by Andy C, Friction, Sub Focus and more. ‘Quantum’ follows recent singles ‘Paradise’ feat. Elle Exxe, ‘Enter The Warrior’ feat. B3ndu, and ‘Oxygen’ feat. Kudu Blue (premiered with Danny Howard on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show before Annie named it her ‘Hottest Record’).
The Prototypes (aka Nick White and Chris Garvey) have this year drawn acclaim from Annie Mac, Danny Howard, Rene Lavice, Your EDM, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, UKF, DJ Mag, Data Transmission, and many more. Written and composed by The Prototypes and spread over eleven tracks, ‘Ten Thousand Feet & Rising’ features some of the country’s hottest vocalists and MCs, including B3NDU, Lily MacKenzie, Kudu Blue’s Clementine Douglas, Fabric Live resident 2Shy MC, rising pop star Elle Exxe, and Evie from Newcastle indie band Lowes.
The Prototypes’ impressive body of work has been released across seminal labels such as UKF, Viper Recordings, Shogun Audio, Ram Records, Technique Recordings and Formation. Their remixes include acts ranging from Ed Sheeran to Avicii to Friction.
