Mix of the Week – Dave Angel at 909 Festival

This week’s mix of the week comes from Dave Angel and his set at 909 Festival located in Amsterdam. Ever since the inception of 909 Festival, it has gone above and beyond to put together a well-balanced musical program. The festival pays homage to the iconic Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer that came to define house and techno music as we know it today. 909 Festival even created an online version of the TR-909 drum machine, making it available for everyone with an internet connection.

Dave Angel (born David Angelico Nicholas Gooden) is a well-celebrated English Techno pioneer and often regarded as the Godfather of the UK’s Techno scene. Angel was born in Chelsea, London and is the son of a London-based jazz musician, elder brother of rapper Monie Love, and the father of UK rapper Fabien Darcy. Dave Angel was first noticed and signed after his classic bootleg remix of The Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams” which eventually became a legitimate release. Dave Angel moved from strength to strength over the years with his unique Hard Tech Funk sound. He is an artist that has played in almost every country and club worldwide and had many successful releases to date.

Kick back (or get up and throw your limbs around) to this incredible mix from Dave Angel.
