Mix of the Week – James Lavelle presents World DJ Day at Fabric (2002)

The recording is from a World DJ Day event held at fabric in 2002. The mix features tracks by Felix Da Housecat, Layo and Bushwacka and FC Kahuna.

James Lavelle founded the Mo’Wax record label in 1992 and has been the only constant member of the electronic music act, UNKLE. He directed the 2014 edition of the Meltdown festival on London’s South Bank and curated the 2016 exhibition “Daydreaming with Stanley Kubrick” at Somerset House. He was the subject of the 2018 documentary film The Man From Mo’Wax which is a must-watch for any electronic music lover.

We hope you enjoy this mix and a little trip down memory lane to those special nights at fabric in the early ’00s.
