Mix of the Week – Zankee Gulati

This week we head on over to Brisbane, Australia where Sydney based DJ / Producer Zankee Gulati drops an epic 3 hour warm up mix for Guy J, recorded in April

From under warm Southern Hemisphere skies, Zankee Gulati is a rising musical phenomenon. With his distinctive brand of underground house and a dash of techno thrown in for good measure, the Sydney based artist continues to develop a growing fanbase comprised of fans and DJ glitterati alike.

Raised in Hobart, a move to the New South Wales provided new opportunities to captivate club-goers with pristine DJ sets full of verve and craft across the state capital with appearances at leading clubs and festivals. Performances at events that include: S.A.S.H, Bootz N Catz, Return To Rio, T1000 has seen Zankee forge a 24-carat reputation in the city’s thriving underground dance scene with shows alongside a raft of industry icons that include Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur. Eelke Kleijn, Tim Green, Nick Warren and more

As a promoter, Zankee Gulati’s resumé is no less impressive. Renowned for the blue-chip brand ‘Bootz’N’Catz’ exploded onto Sydney’s clubland with an array of talent built upon performances from a DJ elite that has included: Nick Warren, Yotto, Guy J, Henry Saiz, Lane 8, Jeremy Olander to name a few. Transposing a wealth of experience in the club and commercial arenas, Zankee Gulati’s growing production career has seen mesmerising performances behind the decks transposed onto a series of original tracks and remix material that has demonstrated no considerable talent and an acute understanding of a sound that fills club floors.

Early releases on such notable imprints as Clinique Recordings, Soundteller and Massive Harmony Records have illuminated this talent, while the “Breathe” EP on the globally renowned Particles, saw Zankee garner support from across the globe including, Tripswitch, Dmitry Molosh and Paul Thomas, before returning once more in mid-2019 with a stellar remix of Austin Martin’s “Space Cake”. 2020 has again seen Zankee rise to new heights with a high-profile release on Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, courtesy of the Organic House vibes of “Visionary / Fika” EP.

Furthermore, a remix of Sebastian Busto for onedotsixtwo was another notable highlight as October 2020 became a month to remember with prestigious support from Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Nick Warren and Above & Beyond. 2021 promises to see an exponential career trajectory with forthcoming releases on imprints such as Mango Alley, Plattenbank, onedotsixtwo and many more. With performances at ‘Babylon’ “Subsonic” and “Return to Rio” festivals, Zankee Gulati has found himself firmly in Australia’s festival circuit spotlight while performances in 2019 and 2020 alongside a stellar cast of international talent that includes Yotto, Guy J, Nick Warren, Stan Kolev, Jeremy Olander and Ben Bohmer have seen the Sydney star shine brightly in the underground firmament.
