Bukovina, where Etapp Kyle grew up and has developed ’Nolove’, is a unique cultural melting pot in Eastern Europe where youth, fashion, music culture sit side-by-side next to religion, violence, war, and larger political struggles—with its turbulent history and position, it had previously been part of Moldova, the Habsburg Empire, the Russian Empire, Romania and the Soviet Union.
Made in collaboration with the director Yanosh Buzhnitsa and the photographer Sergei Veredin, ‘Nolove’ video opening scene depicts the faces of the roughly sixty locals, with whom interviews were conducted. The discussions and dialogue will be featured online along with intimate portraits in the upcoming web exhibition.
’Nolove’ EP is a special release in Etapp’s discography, giving shape to the new musical developments Etapp Kyle has made since the release of 2017’s Alpha, his latest 12″ for Ostgut Ton. Nolove is a minimalistic, detailed, leftfield electronic venture inspired by the cities and the people of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Chernivtsi.
The EP will be released on Ostgut Ton on 20th March 2020.
