Amsterdam’s Panama installs the new Pioneer Pro Sound System, a first in The Netherlands, ahead of this years Amsterdam Dance Event

James Zabiela, Paul Oakenfold, Jay Lumen, Hernan Cattaneo, Mark Knight, Umek, Fred P, Fatima Hajji en Patrice Scott, are just a few of the headliners of events taking place during the five days that are the Amsterdam Dance Event.

Panama, located in an old monumental building that used to be part of the Amsterdam Port Company, is situated at the Northeastern part of Amsterdam’s city centre. The club has a strong focus on local and international house and techno talent and live performances. And during this years ADE it will introduce the newest sound system from Pioneer, also know from venues such as Fabric London and Magdalena Berlin. A first in the Netherlands.

Panama is one of the oldest and longest running clubs in Amsterdam and therefor has a very rich history. The high ceilings and windows are a clear reference to the industrial past of the building.

With exclusive and groundbreaking performances such as Danny Tenaglia’s comback (2006), Josh Wink’s 20 years of Ovum and special guests such as Deep Dish, Derrick May, Fatboy Slim and Groove Armada there’s always something special and memorable going on at Panama. And this year is no exception with a solid and versatile line-up for the Amsterdam Dance Event.

ADE kicks of on Wednesday evening in Panama with one of Amsterdam’s favourite nights; the ADE opening party with amongst others: James Zabiela, Carlo Lio, Ansome, Jay Lumen, Pleasurekraft, Ringo and Tahko. Thursday the club is host to a true 14 hour trance / progressive marathon featuring Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate and ATB. The event is hosted by Luminosity.

On Friday, one of Panama’s most loved evenings returns with a 6 hour back to back set from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Opening this evening will be Henry Saiz and Marc Marzenit. The second room will feature a variety of artists from Hernan and Nick’s talent pool.

Saturday sees the 10th year anniversary of Toolroom Records. Grammy Award winner Mark Knight has invited his friends Umek, Tube & Berger, Adrian Hour, Weiss, Prok & Fitch and Rene Amesz to come celebrate this happening with him during ADE. Local talents like Benjamin Bates, Larz and Apotheque and Bold Moves are also part of the line-up.

And on Sunday morning Panama becomes the temporary kingdom of Spanish techno queen Fatima Hajji, as she drops by for some serious after hours. Especially for those that can’t or won’t get enough, or those that specifically set their alarm for this impressive showcase of Fatima Hajji (read her exclusive interview & mix with Decoded Magazine)and her friends, like Klaudia Gawlas, Ramiro Lopez, Tahko and Raul Pacheco.

The Amsterdam Dance Event will have its closure in Panama Amsterdam with The House District. An event that sees a lot of pioneers from the house scene stopping by. Dj Qu, Fred P, Patrice Scott, Paul Johnson, Secretsundaze and the Dutch Tom Trago are just a few names out of a very impressive line-up.
