The 38th offering from Perspectives Digital, Darin Epsilon’s excellent label introduces us to Gonzalo Luque, better known as Soulwerk.
This latest EP – “Stuck In My Mind” from the Madrid based Producer fits all the requisites of a driving Progressive Tech landscape. The pulsing sonic drum pattern and high synthy jitters are monstrous in all its machinations and rolling writhing glory, along-side sheet thin bass propelling the haunting vocalism on to catch a fire in your brain.
Remix extraordinaire Jamie Stevens puts repetitive, robotic beats and slices of bass, skirting around a catchy chord sequence over steely percussives and a rather tasty deployment of self-indulgent pace, with the vocals getting an ultra-textured make over. And then one is sold to this one.
Yossi Seluk and Eli Abutbul we all know well as Jos & Eli treats the lone track with a slowed down version, harnessing loads of pitter patter and tingling electronics and pulsing interiors encased in a shuddering bass quality. It’s a remake which to most may sound able, but has the chance of getting lost in the shadows of the previous two monsters.
