Rounding off an impressive year, which has seen Birmingham’s leading underground venue welcoming a host of international artists to the city, The Rainbow Venues has unveiled it’s much sought after New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day events. The 2016 roster has seen The Rainbow Venues work with a multitude of brands, including Elrow, Knee Deep In Sound, Defected, Hospitality and has embraced performances from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Skepta and Annie Mac.
Confirmed for New Year’s Eve, pirate radio crew Kurupt FM, bass boys from Bristol My Nu Leng (back to back with Rinse FM DJ, Oneman), house favourite Redlight, Radio 1 selecta Monki and grime legend Logan Sama + more. Taking things a little more underground for its New Year’s Day event, venerated Knee Deep honcho Hot Since 82, Berghain resident Ben Klock, crowd pleaser Patrick Topping and Drumcode’s Alan Fitzpatrick take to the stage. Dense & Pika and Jasper James complete the in-house line-up.
The Rainbow Venues is a sprawling, multi-purpose musical empire that takes in 11 different warehouses to railway arches, to gardens, terraces and a pub (where it all began). One of Birmingham’s best underground hubs, it offers raves for 10,000 people, smaller underground parties for 200, pop-up markets, festivals, food events, art exhibitions, cinemas and much more throughout the year.
