Raphael Mader releases ‘Grace Of Colours’ on Renaissance Records

There are certain times in record label life that make it all worthwhile. For example, whilst sifting through the hours and hours of, shall we say ‘unusual’ submissions, trying very hard to stem the blood coming from our ears, you come across that jewel in the rough; the audio moment, when the clouds part, the sun shines and suddenly all is right in the world of waveform.

One example to happily surprise the speakers at Renaissance Records Towers in late 2019 was Raphael Mader’s ‘Grace Of Colours’, which is a haunting, ethereal treat that comes as two versions – ‘Genuine Soul’ and ‘Lost In Darkness’, released on 14 February. “The former was the original version”, explains Munich-based Raphael. “It was actually part of 3 or 4 tracks I was shopping at the time, possibly as an EP as a whole, but Renaissance were so taken with ‘Grace Of Colours’, they asked me to focus on that and go back into the studio to record a tougher, peak-time version and so the ‘Lost In Darkness’ version was born!”

The resulting mixes complement each other perfectly, offering DJs and dance enthusiasts two entirely different takes that showcase Raph’s impeccably diverse production skills. With releases on labels such as Dear Deer, Lost On You and Steyoyoke already under his belt, ‘Grace Of Colours’ undoubtedly heralds the next stage in Raphael’s development and confirms his status as ‘one to watch’ – the perfect way to begin a new decade we think!
