Continuing to uphold its reputation as a tastemaker in the music scenes, Red Bull UK is delighted to announce a new competition project, Red Bull Raise The Bar, to celebrate up-and-coming rappers and MCs. Red Bull Raise The Bar is the ultimate rap cypher where eight MCs from London’s grassroots communities have been invited by Red Bull and special guest curator Unknown T.
The first edition will take place at E1 on Thursday 12th October, where qualifying MCs go bar-for-bar live on stage through tempo-switching rounds over rap, grime and drill beats. Involving the community at the forefront, MCs will battle in front of a live audience to win the room as the crowd votes for their favourite MC at each round based on who delivers the best show of lyrical dexterity, versatility, flow and energy.
Red Bull Raise The Bar is curated with one of the UK’s most distinctive talents, Unknown T, who will also do a special guest performance. A true hometown hero, the East London rapper shot to fame in 2018 with his club banger ‘Homerton B’. He has since continued his rise through the rap ranks with legendary freestyles and milestone mixtapes.

Redefining his artistry within the UK drill, Unknown T continues to push the sound and scene via his 98s collective and an evolving list of exciting collaborations across genres. 2023 marks a new phase for the artist as the rapper progresses with his musical journey and embarks on new projects including the launch of Red Bull Raise The Bar.
Stepping up to the mic, Red Bull UK and Unknown T have invited eight MCs who have been making waves across their respective regions in London who will be announced on the night. The competition will be joined by DJ Jeeniius providing tracks for qualifying MCs to battle at each round, and the proceedings will be hosted by Mr I Am Next.
