Review – Danny Serrano releases Transitions EP

Artist: Danny Serrano
Title: Transitions EP
Label: My Favourite Freaks Music
Release: 6th April
Catalog: MFF MUSIC 005
Genre: Tech House

Based out of Spain Dj/Producer Danny Serrano comes up with two collaborative tunes, the first of which see’s him jostling with singer Forrest that shows out the title track called “Transitions” that’s seeped in refined, low slung grooves. A rolling synth, has a beat going on top of it, yet the focus remains on the percussives. The vocals never get too much, echoing around the strength of a slight breakdown; the bass component processes it all easily making this engaging light Tech House, pure and simple. The insistent harmonics keep pumping away in the background, huffily so.

The second offering from Danny Serrano finds Fideles in the mix; they both add a certain boing, shaking quality to “Stress In The Streets”. The vocal murmurings against the arpeggio melodics create a devastating effect quite off beat, and fashions the track to being an angry floor killer. The low bassy grooves and percussive timbres make the rest of the outing somewhat hypnotic. Then one has the drone and funky gyrations surge through caverns of hissing space, and frothy punctuations sit comfortably like old comrades.

The pack results in much, that of implausible combinations in to an effortless ensemble.
