Kompakt welcomes Elijah Simmons to the camp for his debut EP “Pisces” which is made up of two fine original tracks from the London based producer. He is an artist you may not have come across before but he has been a very busy man, carving his way through the underground scene. He has been touring the globe of late playing at venues such as D-Edge in Brazil, and PIXI in Athens where he has held a monthly residency playing alongside the likes of Chaim, Permanent Vacation’s Sascha Sibler and The Drifter.

The opening track on the EP “Pisces” is a slow groove that is layered with some sublime intricate textures of melody and delightful chords. The track lifts you to another place when you are listening, almost transports you into a world of pure delight. The ethereal soaring pad sweeps are to die for, and the tinkling melodies and keys just hit you in the heart. One to listen out for if you are a fan of intelligent melodic music!

The second track on the EP, “Scorpi” is in similar grounds to the opening track. It begins with nice low end, moody bass stabs and those ethereal soundscapes soon begin to take ahold of the track. The track builds beautifully into what can only be described as a sonic assault on the heart and mind! A track I can see the likes of Sasha be all over like a rash! A true delight of a record!

All in all a superb EP from a very gifted producer. Not really much else to add… Incredible!
