Release: Out Now!
Genre: Techno

ONNO is an artist that has been making waves in the underground world for the past few years now, and with releases on VIVA, Quartz, and Snatch Off, Adam Beyer thought it was time to invite him to join the list of great artists on his label Truesoul.

First up on the release is the title track “Techno Jam”, and as you might expect this is a techno jam… OK I will go into a little more detail. This is a full on kick drum heavy techno beauty that really does kick things off with a bang. The track has a well processed and glitchy style vocal used throughout, and those cymbal rides are just what every techno den needs. Great way to open an EP.

Next up on the release is the track “Come On” which is a far more minimal techno track compared to the opening number. ONNO uses a distorted melody throughout, and a looped hip-hop style vocal which all works, and links in rather well. Not as dance floor orientated as the first but still going to keep a steady groove on the floor.

The final track on the release is the digital only track, “Breakbeat Bats” which is more of a tech house number, and not a million miles away from that Nick Curly kind of vibe. The track uses some rhythmic hi hats, and again we hear some effected and looped vocals throughout. Nice tech house workout that I am sure we will hear the likes of Steve Lawler and Ida Engberg playing over the summer months.

All in all a very solid package that covers most bases from Tech house to techno. Go take a listen folks, I can guarantee you will like one, if not all the tracks!
