Artist: Tuxedo & Monojoke
Label: Pro-B-Tech Records
Cat No: PBT030
Release Date: 08/06/2015
Tuxedo & Monojoke are both well known artists in Poland and both have a clear love for all things melodic and progressive. Tuxedo currently has his own show on Proton radio and is definitely a man to keep an eye on over the coming months, and Monojoke already has a number of strong releases to his name on labels like Proton, Fade, and Pure Substance. Monojoke has also remixed the likes of Derek Howell and Chris Fortier, and is often on the playlists of Nick Warren and Above & Beyond.
The release is made of an original and a dub. First up on the release is the original version and it begins its journey with some superb tribal like drums before you are soon presented with a delightful warm, deep bassline that fills the track beautifully. The keys rise and fall through the track creating a euphoric quality to the track, and the key and pad rises in the track are just a sheer joy. This is certainly one of those tracks that would lift any dance floor to another level when it is played. This is a track I can see the progressive fraternity just devouring on a regular basis. One for the likes of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren for sure!
Next up we have the dub version of “Nerve” which has a different sounding bassline; it almost sounds a bit more like classic progressive house in some ways. It is almost metallic in sound! As you can imagine in many elements it is quite similar to the original besides the bassline and a few re-arrangements to the groove. Not quite as uplifting as the original track but if both were used together or this was used as a tool I would imagine it would create a devastating soundscape!
A very nice release from Brent’s Pro-B-Tech Records label here. I would head for the original but the dub version would provide a great deeper track or tool. I highly recommend the prog fans out there go and check this out, as this track seems to fit perfectly between progressive and cool quality sounding trance.
