It is always a pleasure when a release on Steyoyoke lands in your inbox, and this is no exception. Here we see Ukka make his debut on the impressive Steyoyoke Black imprint with his “Exhale EP” which is filled with two dark driving techno gems.

First up on the EP is the title track “Exhale” which is a spaced out ethereal techno delight. The track builds slowly, and is crammed with space like, and other worldly sounds that shimmer across the track like moonlight on a dark lake. The bassline is filled with a great groovy low end sub sound, and the keys Ukka has chosen to use are used to devastating effect. This really is a superb track, and one I can see the likes of Digweed loving!

The second track “Del Mar” is of the same ilk as the first. It is a track that builds with menace into a superb melodic techno number with a superb low end and great kicks. The percussion and keys are well thought through and bounce off of each other in perfect harmony. If you like your melodic techno you are going to like this a lot.

This is a label that continues to grow, as with its bigger brother “Steyoyoke”. The A&R guys clearly know what they are doing and continue to dazzle us with their fine artists, and tracks. Keep them coming folks, I want more!
