Here we welcome Parallel Paradox to the Modu Records family. Based in Manchester and playing with Techno and Minimal sounds, the greek duo produce a track named Crying Horizons that is full of old school stabs, a steady bassline, very clear percussion and melodic elements. On paper those elements should all add up to make a very nice track but in this case they do not. The track really does not really progress into anything remotely memorable or interesting. The track certainly left me in tears and not the joyful kind. A very uninteresting original production from the greek duo.

On remix duties we have Nick Varon who delivers an elegant yet powerful deep version of the original track. The bassline really does make you stand up and pay attention and this accompanied with subtle percussion and general background atmosphere make for a very nice remix. Certainly a track for the deeper dancefloors.

Next up we have David Granha’s take on the original track, which is definitely directed at the dance floor. With it’s continuous flow, strong leads and infections drums this really is the standout track on the release. Certainly a track I could see the likes of Nick Warren playing in some smoky dark room.

This release really is all about the remixes so don’t waste your time with the original, head straight for the Nick Varon and David Granha remixes.
