Roberto reveals the launch of his new record label, Fossil Archive with the release of Prolecanites Gurleyi. The man behind the label has already built up quite a back catalogue of releases on labels such as Fachwerk, Affin, Artform and Be As One, and with regular gigs at clubs like Fabric, Berghain, and Tresor I expect Roberto and his label to go from strength to strength.

First up on this release is the title track “Prolecanites” which certainly starts as it means to continue. The track is filled with a savage bassline and some rather aggressive sounding hi hats that all sit around a wonderful Jerome Sydenham esque groove. Really like what Roberto has created here. The percussion is superbly placed, and the track has clearly been mastered to perfection!

Next up we have “Gurleyi” which begins its joinery with some superb soundscape and ethereal sounds. The percussion is layered effortlessly over the keys, and is a perfect track to begin those deep techno journeys. When the kick drops you are presented with some superb off beat claps, and superbly mirrored percussion that all sit together like a beautifully laid out culinary delight. The track builds throughout, and soon you hear those chuggy hi hats that really lift the pace of the track. This is certainly a track I would love to hear in Fabric or Berghain!

A very well crafted 2 track release from Roberto, and a superb way to begin your own label. If Roberto continues with releases like this he will certainly be attracting the right attention from the techno fraternity. With support from Chris Liebing, Truncate, Dustin Zahn, Blawan, and Alan Fitzpatrick you would be foolish to not go and pick this release up!
