Secretsundaze to host BBC Essential Mix, 20 Years of Show at Glastonbury

Secretsundaze’s 20th anniversary year continues to serve up plenty of exciting surprises with the news that founders Giles Smith and James Priestley will be contributing to BBC Radio 1’s iconic Essential Mix series on May 21st. On June 26th, they will host at Glastonbury and after the May 14th Summer Opening Party they will host further events in Barcelona and London with DJs including Marcellus Pittman, Peach, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Jamie Tiller, Lauren Hansom, Paquita Gordon and many more. Head to ra.co for tickets.

The famously familial party recently hosted the Streaming For Ukraine fundraiser in association with fabric and Resident Advisor, raising over £11,000 for Humanitarian causes, and has kicked off its 20th anniversary year with some standout parties at Colour Factory and Venue MOT. Now, as the warmer months arrive, the summer season kicks off in style on May 14th at Oval Space with Jeremy Underground, Galcher Lustwerk (live), Shy One, Jonny Rock and Bianca Lexis.

Before the next event, house tastemakers James and Giles will step up with their own entry into the hallowed BBC Radio 1’s iconic Essential Mix series on May 21st.

“We’re honoured to be contributing to the legendary Essential Mix series, which was instrumental to us in our formative raving years together as young teenagers and which still remains relevant to this day. We had a great time recording the mix, pulling together a load of records that have been important over our last 20 years as well as more contemporary things we’re feeling now; all put together in a way that hopefully conveys the essence of our DJ sets and our parties.” James Priestley – Secretsundaze Co-Founder

After that, it is the annual OFF Sonar return to La Terrrazza, Barcelona on June 19th for a ‘20 Years’ party that runs from midnight until 5.30 am with Detroit don Marcellus Pittman, high energy selector Peach and the Secretsundaze duo before landing at Glastonbury. On Sunday, June 26th, the brand marks the final day of the iconic festival by hosting an open air 20 Years of Secretsundaze special at Silver Haze, Glastonbury with two shining stars of London’s dance music community in New Zealand pair Chaos In The CBD and Shy One

“We only made our Glastonbury debut a few years ago at Block 9’s Genesis stage and still feel wide-eyed in anticipation about playing the music we love at such an iconic worldwide event. We’ve heard amazing things about the Wow Stage at Silver Hayes and are super happy to bring our friends Chaos In The CBD and Shy One for the Glastonbury ride.” Giles Smith – Secretsundaze Co-Founder

Saturday, July 9th then promises to be an epic Day & Night, multi-venue event in Hackney Wick which will celebrate the long-running open-air dancing tradition that defines Secretsundaze. Taking place across 5 dancefloors at venues Colour Factory, The Yard and Old Street Brewery from 1pm till 4am, is a tastefully

curated mix of esteemed DJs including founding member of the legendary Three Chairs aka Marcellus Pittman, David Mancuso protégée and founder of London’s legendary Lucky Cloud Loft parties, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Luca Lozano and James & Giles, aka Secretsundaze. For broader sounds look no further than the cult that is Jamie Tiller, while Australian native Lauren Hansom is similarly well known for her genre-blending and bending sets. Paquita, Gordon, Kasra V, Heels & Souls, Free Dots, Leiah Fournier and Millie also line up with a couple of very special guests to come nearer the time.

Then, all roads lead to September 3rd when Secretsundaze celebrates 20-times around the sun with a supersized 20th Birthday Party that is, for now, a well-kept secret. You should expect a perfect mix of past, present and future sounds with authentic roots and a timeless true dance music spirit. It will be one of the most memorable parties yet so get it booked in your rave diary now.
