Seven Villas Music just released Warten by Lesterr

There is a particular kind of record that does not ask for attention so much as reward it. WARTEN, the new three-track EP from Lesterr, sits in that territory, leaning into the deeper and more minimal end of electronic music with a patience that feels increasingly rare.

The title is the German verb meaning to wait, and it is an apt one. These are three minimal deep cuts shaped by dub techno, a lineage that stretches back to Berlin in the early nineties and the idea that a groove could be built from what is left out as much as what is put in. Lesterr understands that principle well. Hypnotic rhythms settle in early and stay there, deep basslines move with quiet intent, and the textures above them are subtle enough to reveal themselves only over time.

Nothing here is rushed. Repetition is used as a tool rather than a crutch, and the space between elements carries as much weight as the elements themselves.

This is music built for specific moments: the warm-up set where a room is still finding its shape, the intimate session with a small and attentive crowd, the long journey where detail matters more than impact. WARTEN serves each of them well.
