Slam reveal dates and line-ups for the autumn editions of Return To Mono

Return To Mono, Slam’s monthly residency and a staple of the Glasgow scene announces its latest programme. On the second Friday of every month, the city’s own underground innovators return to the legendary Sub Club, alongside some of the most exciting names from the local and international techno scenes.

On Friday 9th September, an incendiary line-up kickstarts the long-standing RTM party as Slam are joined by Hadone and Kairogen. A formidable force behind the decks, Hadone is a triple threat from the east of France, renowned equally for his live shows, DJ sets and his productions. He’s had releases on labels like KAOS, Taapion and Monnom Black with a sound that is raw and melancholic, with a surging undercurrent of 90’s techno. One of Glasgow’s most exciting emerging artists, Kairogen joins the party too. No stranger to the Sub Club basement, Kairogen’s years spent working there sparked a love of the scene that eventually led her behind the decks where she’s since mastered the art of a killer peak-time set.

On Friday 14th October, Slam will be joined by Rebekah and KAAI. Following the release of Rancor, her latest monstrous EP release on Soma Records, Rebekah will join label mates Slam from her home of Berlin for the first time since February 2019. Undoubtedly one of the most revered names in international techno, Rebekah is renowned for her pummeling sound and wall-shaking sets. One of Glasgow’s newest arrivals, KAAI has already torn up dancefloors around the city, including Maximum Pressure at SWG3 and Eutony at La Cheetah, with a sound stretching from ambient to electro and hard-hitting industrial Techno.

Friday 11th November will see the leading figure in Berlin’s new underground scene, Patrick Mason, make his Sub Club debut. Born cutting shapes on the dance floor at Berghain, Patrick graduated to ripping the roof off Panorama Bar, burning up clubs from Kyiv to Paris with his hybrid sets of techno and house. He’ll be joined by Slam, and one of Glasgow’s most formidable new DJs and producers, Iranian industrial techno artist Farnaz.

The final RTM of 2022 brings this series to a thunderous conclusion with one of Berlin’s hard-hitters, D.Dan. His unique energy and raw grooves have brought D.Dan to the helm of some of the city’s fiercest parties with his own blend of slamming techno and acid seeing him release on labels like Lobster Theremin, Arsenik and KAOS.

Their RTM residency continues to anchor Slam throughout a huge year for the duo. The Soma Records’ head honchos concluded their 5-part Louder Than Chaos collaborative release series, before dropping the thunderous Aversion EP in May. Since then, they have been busy tearing up sets around Europe, from Glasgow’s Riverside Festival to London’s Village Underground and Le Bikini in Toulouse and this week they release a brand new EP Transcript. Then next month marks a momentous return to Berghain!
