D.Ramirez breathes new life into Slave Recordings

Godfather of tech house D Ramirez has relaunched his respected Slave Recordings imprint fresh for 2016. Badder, bolder and bassier than before, Slave captures the darker side of house to devastating effect. Exploding back onto the scene with ‘Brutal Power’ from the man himself, the debut release is a playful trip back to the days of old school house brought right up to speed with intricate tech elements and a killer hook. Including a spicy techno remix from Faceless Recordings co-founder, elrow artist and Abode @ Studio 338 regular on-the-rise Barber, this is a powerful package made to destroy those late night warehouse sessions.

“My vision for Slave Recordings was always clear: an antithesis in every sense. We slavishly conform to what is accepted, and I wanted Slave Recordings to be about bucking that trend and pointing to a new path.” – D.Ramirez

Ramirez has recently elevated to almost guru status within the production world; invited to become Denon DJ’s spokesman and demonstrator for their new MCX8000, with the unveiling and demo performance at Dancefair in Utrecht. Also contributing to the new Toolroom Academy, producing a bestselling tutorial with Mark Knight deconstructing their anthem and worldwide No.1 hit ‘Downpipe’. His YouTube ‘Masterclass’ sessions have had over 5 million views collectively and inspired a new generation of producers to dig a bit deeper than loop packs, experiment with sound and reach their production potential.

Slave’s last release was back in 2010, but since it’s inception in 2004, the label has hosted tasty tech, electro and progressive house from a range of revered artists including Seamus Haji, Deepgroove, Justin Drake, Darren Emerson, Rene Amezs, Kristoph, Cagedbaby & Paul Woolford. Slave’s exports were a vital component for the inception of the electro house phenomenon that kicked off around the mid-noughties.

As before, Slave is launching with an up to date, upfront and tough-talking sound for the new decade. Expect a carefully curated, consistent release schedule of tech and deep house from some of London’s most talked about producers, and a few surprise appearances from DJ royalty, all sourced personally by one of the industry’s most creative and boundary-pushing artists.

The release date for the new single will be announced soon.
