Sónar has announced the next edition of the infamous Barcelona event for 2020, adding that it is returning to its usual June time slot of 18-20th June at the La Fira complexes. Some names are included below and we are expecting further announcements on the programme and on the Sónar+D Congress, which runs in parallel to the Sonar by Day. But big names like Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, The Chemical Brothers (who have been touring with Sónar on its international dates), Laurent Garnier and the circular hi-fi mobile sound system of James Murphy’s and 2manydjs’ DESPACIO concept featuring alongside the new heroes of the urban and trap scene throughout the two festival sites.
One major change is that the XS stage is relocating and expanding it support for both Spanish artists and emerging Latin American talent. Tech showcases include Seth Troxler with his new cosmic project Lost Souls Of Saturn. The full program of the festival is packed with absolute premieres, exclusive shows, anticipated comebacks and a large representation of national talent.
There are also some new ticket options. For example, the SonarPass will be available in with up to 3 instalments for payment, which should take the sting out the full Day & Night ticket option.
