Steve Lawler teams up with Darius Syrossian on the latest release for Do Not Sleep

Artist: Steve Lawler & Darius Syrossian
Title: Back To The Future EP
Label: Do Not Sleep
Release: 24th November
Genre: Tech House

VIVA Music boss Steve Lawler teams up with Do Not Sleep’s Darius Syrossian for the first time since 2012 groover ‘Future Pain’ to bring us an absolute banger of an EP in ‘Back To The Future’. Excitement is produced and energy garnered without even listening to this EP. When you see two legendary names like this one EP, you know it is going to be special! Then to top it off with a remix from the hottest property on the market at the moment, Max Chapman; need I say more?!

Solid drums line the original mix of ‘Back To The Future’ whilst a detuned bassline adds a layer of pure groovin vibes. An amazing atmosphere is developed through the clever use of reverbs, delays and filtering to really grab the attention of listeners. Overall, this is a really fun track that will no doubt work on many an occasion.

Max Chapman’s remix of ‘Back To The Future’ is a Tech House rarity at 127bpm and the boost in tempo is certainly felt. Max takes the groovin original and turns it into a supercharged floor filler. The energy produced throughout this remix is astounding, there is a lot of involuntary movement conjured. Fantastic work from the super talented artist.

‘We Like To Jam’ is one of those B side monsters that could easily work as a standalone track. The track is impactful and ferocious. A darkness surrounds the track given off from the erratic minor keys. There is absolutely no doubt that if you heard this at 4 am, you would feel completely revitalised and ready to smash another 3 days straight with no sleep. Another top class EP and we expected no less. Brilliant all around.
