For their latest outing on Sasha’s Last Night on Earth imprint, Hunter/Game craft a sublime free-fall excursion into the heady realms of melodic techno, electronica and ambient, with exciting Milano talent Pisetzky drafted to collaborate on EP cut ‘Dystopia’.
The outstanding three-tracker leads with ‘Utopia’, a hypnotizing, multi-layered gem that lives up to its heavenly title with a persistent groove that works its way towards an exciting horn-laden climax.
If ‘Utopia’ is propelled by a blissful euphoria, then ‘Dystopia’ is a darker more haunting journey melodic trip produced in collaboration with Pisetzky – a member of the duo’s Just This collective and shortly due to release his debut EP on their label of the same name. Driven by intergalactic synth swirls that build towards a menacing crescendo, its otherworldly energy makes it the perfect accompaniment to the original.
Rounding out the EP is the beautiful ambient offering ‘Paradigm’, reinforcing the breadth of Hunter/Game’s sonic palette.
The release continues Hunter/Game’s stellar 2015, that includes an outstanding ‘Spreicher 83’ release on Kompakt, with EP cut ‘Hexagon’ being the no.1 most charted track on RA in February. In April they released their maiden EP on new label Just This, so named after their scene-shaping parties of the same name that have defined the Milan club scene since they begun in 2010. An outstanding remix of Max Cooper & Tom Hodge’s ‘Remnants’ on Fields recently added to another highlight-heavy year.
