Sydney Tell No Tales Summer Edition featuring Laurent Garnier, Pan-Pot, Robert Hood, Derrick Carter and more

After its successful debut last Summer in both Sydney and Melbourne featuring Ricardo Villalobos, Audion, Pan-Pot, Agents of Time and Nastia, Tell No Tales will return to Sydney for a very special Summer Edition on Saturday 24th February at The Greenwood.

This special edition of TNT will see the return of renowned artist – Laurent Garnier. It’s been eight years since Garnier has performed in Sydney and this will be his only DJ performance as part of this massive Tell No Tales lineup; which will also feature – Berlin based techno duo Pan-Pot, king of minimal Detroit techno Robert Hood, Chicago house stalwart Derrick Carter and Italians – Agent of Time (who garnered many new fans with their live set at TNT last summer) and techno siren Deborah De Luca; as if this lineup wasn’t already enough – Scan X will also be playing live.

This is a MUST for any techno fan in Sydney, with one of the biggest techno lineups to date. Laurent Garnier has been making the planet dance for over 30 year, and is the undisputed godfather of the French electronic scene. His legendary sets have taken punters on the ultimate electronic music journey. There really is no other like him, to say this event will be special is an understatement. It’s been a long time since Australia got to dance to Laurent Garnier.

Another critically renowned act to join Laurent is tech-house duo Pan-Pot. Their dominant presence within the scene has ensured that their previous tours in Australia have become the stuff of legend. The duo’s ability to create an electric vibe on the dance floor has seen them booked on a variety of shows for over a decade.

Robert Hood needs little introduction. Founding member of the legendary group Underground Resistance, his seminal works on Jeff Mill’s Axis and his very own M-Plant imprint paved the way for a wave of stripped-down dancefloor minimalism that directed much of techno’s path throughout the late Nineties. Robert Hood makes minimal Detroit techno with an emphasis on soul and experimentation over flash and popularity. Check out some of his most recent Dekmantel sets, to witness the heat that Robert Hood will unleash at Tell No Tales in February.

Derrick Carter will bring the boompty, that’s for sure. His sets are rooted in house, but he freely travels outside club tastes, seamlessly incorporating old-school disco, soul, jazz and whatever catches his fancy. An Australian favourite who never disappoints, and always rocks the dancefloor. The Agents of Time’s live act is characterized by the use of analog instruments, making each stage show unpredictable and unique in its kind. Their common desire is to brave limits and to share with others the pulse of enjoyable freedom which led them to perform at internationally recognised festivals (mostly with live acts, but also often DJ sets), such as Amsterdam’s DGTL and ADE, Barcelona’s Off Sonar and Mexico’s BPM Festival, and even with the Tonhalle orchestra of Zürich as well as in famous clubs around the globe.

Hailing from Naples Deborah De Luca has gained quick notoriety of the past few years, her high quality brand of fusion hard techno and minimal sounds has seen her play many of the biggest clubs all over the world. Her passion and strong personality shows through her infectious DJ sets. Someone who has worked with Garnier as one of the original pioneers in the French techno scene is Scan X, he too joins this all start lineup for a special live set.
