Take Note Academy London announces final programme including live performances from Silvia Kastel and Tom Demac

Take Note Academy will offer a day of inspiring talks and masterclasses, as well as the opportunity for the next generation to receive one-on-one advice from industry specialists through its mentoring scheme. Attendees will also experience standout live performances from 7 pm to round off the day with two leading artists in Tom Demac and Silvia Kastel, with an aim to encourage pushing the boundaries of performance.

Silvia Kastel’s work explores the outer limits and inner workings of no wave, industrial, dub, extreme electronics, free rock, and improvisation. Prompted by a late-flowering interest in techno and club music, Kastel creates music that combines a steady rhythmic pulse with the otherworldly sonorities of musique concrete, and avant-garde synth sounds inspired by Japanese minimalism and techno pop. Using a sampler, sequencer, synth and drum machine, Kastel will treat attendees to material from her latest album as well as brand new music.

After taking a couple of years off from performing at venues such as Berghain/Panorama Bar and fabric—as well as at festivals such as Glastonbury and Freerotation—Tom Demac is back performing live with a completely new setup for 2018. With the combination of Ableton Live, a modular synthesiser, guitar pedals, and drum machine, Demac will showcase his ability to jam live and create evolving soundscapes alongside existing live renditions of his productions on the fly.
