The complete German super label Kompakt delivers once again with a fantastic double sided EP featuring a huge collaboration between Berlin’s very own breakthrough artists Danny Daze and Shokh and a solid track from superstar Patrice Bäumel. All fans of the Techno realm know of the consistency that Kompakt works too and this EP represents what the label is all about in fine detail.

Danny Daze and Shokh’s track ‘Aira’ gets us underway and it has absolutely everything from the get go. The track is soaked in a nice warm reverb which gives it a solid warehouse feel. The grungy bassline erratically charges the atomic particles surrounding the room. Bright synths smother the outer reaches of the stereo spectrum and modulate in strange ways to keep things really interesting. This is an absolute weapon of a track.

Patrice Bäumel’s ‘Sorcery’ represents the veteran producer’s Techno wizardry in spectacular style. The pacey percussion with modulating reverb make easy work of making us sway, whilst the low end, which is made up of a low tom sounding groove, gives the track fierce power that rattles the windows away from the frames. What we expected from Patrice is exactly what we get, an adventure through the deepest reaches of our own subconscious. Top class work once again.
