The original mix gets the EP underway and the gritty, raw power of Kerri’s productions are on show for all. The track is packed full of thought provocative synth lines, powerful acidic lows, and arpeggios that drift through our subconscious. The characterful swinging drums that Kerri is renowned for fills in the frequency spectrum with a tight, well-designed groove. ‘Checkmate’ is an absolute diamond of a track.
Cinthie’s remix takes things to a different plane of existence, with a crisp shell and subtle remnants of the original mix, we are presented with an incredible take on ‘Checkmate’. Berlin’s maestro demonstrates her unique ability in crafting underground floor-fillers once again. Steve Rachmad, on the other hand, takes things on a darker path with a tale of Techno. The intense low end, huge drums, and the reworked chords work in perfect tandem to give us another monster of a track.
