Tommy Four Seven presents a series of EPs featuring guests from his ongoing event 47. Keeping the focus on the floor, each release will include 4 original tracks, including one by Tommy himself. This is the second installment in the series with the first been released back in April, featuring Killawatt, Kwartz & Isolated lines and of course the man himself.

The compilation begins with ‘x9’ and a familiar sound of many of T47 productions. An amalgamation of industrial low-end with distorted like feedback coupled with modular sounding textures throughout. Added to this a gnarling stab before breaking down into a a trippy futuristic sequence and slowly builds again before re-entering into full throttle mode. Solid as always from T47.

‘Vortex’ is the second track on the A side comes from P.E.A.R.L. This moves more to main room style and would nicely lead into a main act or post to bring things back down a notch. The kick punches through alongside the choppy bass whilst swirling pads give a pleasant depth and heightened tension as the track develops. Some intermittent and varying percussion keep the ear very much intrigued.

AnD start of the B side with ‘Valid Point’. This is no holes barred techno which is reminiscent of what I grew up on. Full on 130+BPM with a classic distorted kick, manic shuffling percussion and hard hitting claps. The zany arpeggiated sequence weaves in and out in a non relentless manner keeping it interesting and intense. Warning not for the faint hearted.

Finally the last track comes from J.Tijn called ‘Mr Mime’.  Similar to the rest of the EP the kick is of a industrial variety which runs into some searing synth leads sounds. Again pushing towards the 130 BPM mark this track’s distorted elements are what make the track along with what seems like a warped riff giving movement to the groove . What seems to be a female vocal pad (although not 100% sure)  fills it out nicely. The break is a bit special with manic synth stabs before resuming its full course. There is one more break into those crazy stabs that leads into an unexpected hypnotic loop which is now the main focus of the track and as a result takes us into the outro. I would have like it to  have been introduced earlier or the track extended slightly as this will be sadly lost when mixed out by DJs.
