Label: My Favourite Robot Records

My Favourite Robot Records, going by the same name as the producer trio who created it, is well-known and admired for their fun, futuristic sounding releases. The labels vision to ‘ignore the norm’, is capitulated brilliantly throughout multi-skilled Tone Of Arc’s brand new EP.

The talented producer who is also a one man walking band, boasting an impressively dexterous ability when it comes to the art of musical instruments showcases those skills from start to finish. ‘10 Minutes Of Movin’ is a title which perfectly captures the essence of the track. It is one that certainly gets us moving. Every note and every beat has been designed in a way that leaves us with a feeling of joy and happiness. Major chord progressions are made even more joyous thanks to the well-rounded sounds chosen. An arrangement of crazy, one of a kind sounds, expertly balanced and ready to get us going.

‘Funitel’ starts with a spacious arpeggio accompanied by bright, shining strings before leading us into a seriously cool vocal line surrounded by elements which give the track a dark, coloured feeling. The soft drum pattern guides the crispy, distorted synths and dark melodies into our wanting ear drums. We are left completely satisfied with what can only be described as an epic journey of a record.

Track number 3 on the EP, ‘Legion of Vegetables’ is just as mental as it sounds. Trippy drum arrangements, strange processed vocals and glorious pads add to that colossal madness. The atmosphere makes me feel as though I am walking through a dark forest at night in a senseless direction, just walking in complete synchronization to the beat, throwing the odd shape out here and there.

This is a very enjoyable EP and one that will tingle the palette of those into their more indie type electronic music. An immense collection of tracks by the ever creative Tone Of Arc.
