Tour Guide – Mark Knight picks his five favourite shows from Toolroom’s 15th anniversary world tour

The MOODS event series at The Perception at W London continues into 2019 on a strong footing by presenting news of four more groundbreaking parties, building on the success of their much-talked about 2018 events. Saturday 9th February is the turn of Toolroom Records label boss, Mark Knight. He has helped shape the electronic music landscape over recent years with his highly-respected imprint as well as stunning productions. He recently embarked on a special all night long tour that showcased his skills as a veteran DJ, also demonstrating how deep he can dig. All of this showmanship is sure to be in plain view for all to see when he heads to London for MOODS. Ahead of the show Mark talks us through his highlight sets from 2018 –

“2018 was Toolroom’s 15th anniversary and one of the things we did to celebrate was a world tour. I loved playing every one of those shows, but these are 5 that particularly stood out” – Mark Knight

Pool Party at The Surfcomber, Miami

Always love playing Miami and this was an absolutely killer party. Miami used to be a place of business but it’s pretty much all about the parties these days and there’s a lot of competition, but I’d say we more than held our own!

Womb, Tokyo

Japanese crowds are among the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic in the world, and Womb is one of the best clubs anywhere. The crowd didn’t stop going full pelt for my entire set, had a really infectious energy and I probably ended up playing a little tougher than usual as a result.

Studio 338, London

Completely packed from midday to the early hours the next day on a beautiful summer’s day. One of the highlights of the year and one of the reasons we landed a residency there this year. We had Erick Morillo down and he absolutely smashed it! It’s a unique space and I can’t wait to get back there in April.

Barutana, Serbia

If you’ve never been here, it’s one place you should 100% visit, really atmospheric venue in an old fortress. I guess a lot of people in the UK will never have heard of it as it’s a little more remote than places you usually hear about, but without doubt worth a trip. Raving doesn’t get much better.

The Halloween Homecoming Street Party at The Source, Maidstone

An extra date we added onto the end of the anniversary tour in our hometown and a special way to wrap up an amazing few months. It was an absolute joy to see loads of familiar faces, and pretty much the entire Toolroom team made it down… possibly my favourite party of the entire year.
