Watch and stream Sasha’s live rework of ‘Xpander’

We are thrilled to share with you the official live video for Sasha’s new rework of his seminal track ‘Xpander’! The new version of the 1999 hit delivered an overwhelming reaction at his reFracted live shows at the Barbican, London in May, and the track and video are now available on Youtube and Spotify for you to stream in full. Due to the overwhelming demand of the limited edition ‘Sasha: reFracted: Live’ on Blu-Ray, another 1000 copies are going to be released. They will be on sale on the Late Night Tales website on Monday 18th September at 6pm BST.

Sasha’s focus on the future and fresh worlds to conquer made it unlikely he’d revisit his seminal cut ‘Xpander’, which electrified dance-floors in 1999 and has been spoken of with awe ever since. But then, a towering presence dominating centre stage at his Barbican live debut, he began a seemingly new piece which slowly revealed itself to be a special new rework, bringing the stunned audience to their feet in a goosebump-inducing joyful finale.

“From day one everyone was like We’ve got to do Xpander!” Sasha says. “Of course, it was the scariest thing to tackle because it was such a big old record. We slowed it right down, put this really teasing intro in it that sounded very [Steve] Reich-ian. The moment that it opened up and the riff came in was a really special moment at the Barbican.”

The rework rounded off Sasha’s live interpretation of his highly-acclaimed Scene Delete album on the eminent Late Night Tales label along with tracks from his back catalogue, on keyboards and accompanied by vocalists, band and string ensemble.

A limited edition signed Blu-ray of the whole live show released for pre-order on Tuesday sold out all 1000 copies in mere hours, just as the tickets for the Barbican sold out in record time. Following such incredible demand, Sasha and the label have decided to press another 1000 copies. It will be the hardback case with the gig on Blu-ray and double audio CD but won’t be numbered/signed. They will be on sale on the Late Night Tales website on Monday 18th September at 6pm BST. In the meantime, the stunning Xpander rework is now available for everyone.
