Wayward’s ‘Back To The Old Days’ out now on Silver Bear Recordings

Taking place in the heart of Peckham, Back To The Old Days follows three women on a journey through the activities bonded them as school friends. We watch them fondly as we relate to them covertly smoking, playing basketball, dancing in the park being carefree. We witness the reunion of two of the girls (now in their mid 20s) who’ve drifted apart, and the emotional maturity that comes with age as they are now in a position to be friends again.

Wayward explain – “With everything that’s happened in the world over the last year, we’ve found some solace in looking to the past. Sam, Sophia (the directors) and the actors ability to create a visual encapsulating this feeling of nostalgia blew us away! Hopefully it reminds people of simpler, more carefree times. “

“these guys have been releasing tunes for a couple years but I think this is a really big step up for them, influenced by Special Request, Four Tet, Burial, and when I heard this I just thought this is so special. It’s got those emotive breakdowns, dreamy breaks, and I love the spoken word sample”  – Jaguar

Shot on a Bolex 16mm for true nostalgia, the video was directed by Sam Ripman (All Good Man premiered by Dazed) and the recent The World Is Your Oyster (premiered by The Face) and Sophia Dembitzer (Kyra).
