youANDme are back with a release packed with grooves and percussion. The guys are famous for their style of combining funk with techno, always keeping their music fresh and interesting. Not only have they gained massive attention for their productions, but also their skills as DJs and making labels such as Rotary Cocktail Recordings, Polymorph, and CUTZ.ME has contributed to the continually growing fan base and has made them wanted in clubs and festivals all over the world such as Space Ibiza, Sonar Festival, KaZantip Festival and Panorama Bar / Berghain in Berlin.

‘Tube’ is the theme of the release, and this is incorporated in the tracks. ‘Tube (Basement Mix)’ moves with industrial sounds taking their space and working with a wide specter of elements such as strong Chicago house chords. Moving over to the ‘Tube (Warehouse Mix)’ the sounds get a bit rawer, with slamming grooves working as a solid base for the slightly funky vocal and melody drive.

On board, they have welcomed very different but interesting remixers. First we are introduced “Tube (Shinedoe Remix)”, and she delivers a tune true to her original style. Shinedoe has taken the electronic music scene with storm since her early beginnings, and the focus on high quality productions blending with honest and thrilling performances makes her a highly respected and admired DJ, producer and label owner (Intacto). The sound is on point, and focus lies clean elements combined with intense and forward driving hi-hats. Secondly, the remix by Timo Maas rounds up the EP with a different take on the track. Maas is a German producer that tends to flow between spotlight and periphery keeping himself on the radar through solid productions. His mastery of intricate sounds and synths, creating powerful and emotional pieces is recognizable in his take on “Tube”. He tones the track down in a deeper direction but still works with tight percussions giving it a bouncy flair. A nice EP that brings width with the different versions of the track, making sure there is something for everyone to enjoy.
