Hot Since 82’s super label Knee Deep In Sound brings us an absolutely epic EP featuring Yousef’s incredible original ‘Life Is Too Short’. With some brilliant remixes from Habischman and Romano Alfieri, we have plenty of ammunition to choose from when hunting through the weapons cache, modernly known as a USB.

The original mix of ‘Life Is Too Short’ is full of positive vibes and releases a flush of joyous endorphins around the body from the get go. The resonant bassline grooves around, pushing us into a gentle sway and keeping us hooked whilst the pads build nicely into the vocals as we come to the break. This is another example of why the Merseyside legend has grown a reputation as one of the most creative artists of his generation.

Romano Alfieri’s remix is built up more around a solid tom groove and a nice minimal house pattern. The drums are characterful and well crafted, whilst the strings from the original guide our thoughts in the background. Romano has stamped his signature all over this remix, whilst keeping the tranquility of the original.

Habischman’s remix, on the other hand, takes a darker, more ferocious turn. A wonderful, stabby bass rolls over, whilst a huge ambiance takes over the soul. A massive FM bass soaked in reverb makes for really interesting detail. Our minds are completely consumed by this remix, it has absolutely everything. An unbelievable track and we expected no less. World class.
