After his remix of “Architect” by Dast, Etruria Beat welcome Oliver Deutschmann back to the label for his first full release entitled “Resist”. The pack includes two original tracks, and two tasty remixes by Etruria Beat label boss Luca Agnelli and French Techno producer Electric Rescue.
The opening track on the EP is Luca Agnelli’s remix of the title track, “Resist”. Luca takes the original sounds and makes it a lot more chunky and analogue sounding than the original track. He beefs up the hi hats and cymbal rides, and the whole track sounds a lot more focussed on the dance floor than the original. Don’t get me wrong though, the original is a tasty number… The original is a little more funky than the remix and is filled with those joyful classic sounding house chords. Both are very powerful tracks that will certainly move any dance floor to some fist pumping!!!
After the remix and original of “Resist”, comes the track “Hope” which is more of a Detroit sounding number with it’s strong melodies and atmospheric vibe. Those typical Detroit style 808 drums sound incredible, and the hits and stabs just work a treat throughout the track. I really like how the track is very stripped back and almost minimal in parts; the whole dark mood to the track just captivates you. One I am sure the likes of Ben Klock will be liking!
The final track on the EP is Electric Rescue’s remix of “Resist” which is a very different take on the original. The synth line is almost like a new track, and the bassline is far more aggressive, and aimed at the folks on the dance floor. The only part of the remix you may recognise from the original is the break where those dark atmospheric chords are used once again.
A very well produced EP with some very strong remix work from Luca Agnelli and Electric Rescue. Personally I would edge for the two originals but any track on this EP would certainly do the job nicely.
