Pig and Dan’s label “Elevate” flexes its strong arm muscles with explosive Techno and attempts a straight forward assault of the senses, always conveying the strength of this particular style.
Continuing on the hard hitting releases strain, the label’s latest offering titled, โSeagullsโ ushers out a 3 track EP. The first of which, โIf God Was A DJโ gives you flat beats accompanied by a pogoing rubbery sample and synthy stabs of percussions. This cut picks up unexpectedly with an energetic bass doing its bit to keep things interesting. But the real banging beast of the bunch is the Alt Mix of the same track, where the mood is buoyant and bouncy. Riding a riff throughout, the speedy tone in the remix catches and throws one a gauntlet, challenging you to a marching dance. The hooks are anxious, the kind that gets dark and eerie than ever before. An addictive and infectious floor killer, because of that big room bass!
Meanwhile the title tune is staple Pig and Dan fare. The melody hook centres you, and trademark techno jitters are felt all the way, both teasing, inviting further and further away in to its dancey depth. The underbelly is glistening with a slightly clichรฉd landscape, the run along bass line though puts the track as a perfect sling shot for a cavernous floor rising. This is a structured release, for no nonsense, no time to waste dance in a โyou know where youโre goingโ kind of way.
