Smash TV are Holger Zilske and Kai Preussner and the pair are both members of the Get Physcial family. However not many of you may know that the pair are passionate gardeners, amateur baristas, and dating coaches. Enough of the small talk, let’s get down to the tracks.

First up on the release is the track ‘Slayer’ which is a deep, low end groover which is something we have come to expect from Smash TV. The bassline on this track is simply awesome and one that would rip terraces and house dancefloors apart. The track has some well-placed percussion and vocal snippets which all come together nicely to form a great deep, moody track. One that is perfect for those warm up sets and a track I highly recommend.

The second track on the EP is ‘World Wide What’. Again we do have some wonderful growling bass and some squelchy stabs and percussion but this time there is some warm piano keys that help the track build in a rather superb manner. I really like how the keys add a little beauty to this rather dirty sounding little number. One that would not be amiss in a Maceo Plex or John Digweed set.

A very strong release here from Smash TV on Hive Audio. One I recommend you go and check out when you can. You will definitely not be disappointed.
