Guy J’s excellent Lost & Found is riding high in 2014 with a series of exceptional releases that now continue with a debut offering on the label from the super-talented Turkish producer, Yunus Güvenen.
Yunus is back after a nine-year hiatus! For those who remember what was happening a decade ago, Yunus will be remembered as one of the top producers in the history of Bedrock, having released the seminal Invasion EPs and for his remix of the classic Heaven’s Scent. Yunus also released several festival anthems such as Red Pilot and Underwater under his Indigo Child moniker.
Meeting Molly is a glorious smile inducing, ever-evolving piece of modern electronic wonderment that oozes positivity. Standout and distinctive in style, Yunus displays an unrivalled passion to harness melodic beauty of the finest quality. His music is unique and magical, steering clear of tried and tested formulas, playing with sounds, pushing boundaries with interesting structures and exhibiting an attention to detail that continues right to the very last bar. A very well liked track by all here in the office and one I would recommend for you deep house and progressive heads.
Guy J’s work is always touched with a magic and emotion that few rival and his remix of Meeting Molly is yet another example of why his productions are so special. This restrained, sensual beauty flows seemingly effortlessly into an ever-blossoming journey. The bass pads and percussion is intricate and intelligent, as we have come to expect from this man. A truly beautiful rendition of the original track and one that all Guy J fans will love I am sure.
Lost & Found is steadily building a catalogue of releases that are amongst my favourite of any label out there. If Guy J and the artists he signs continue in this way I can see this label being up there with the likes of Bedrock and Sudbeat for years to come. Keep those progressive and deep gems coming Guy J, we are all loving your work and the artists you bring to us.
